Hi I’m Steph, the face behind ANKY Australia. I’d like to share my story on how my business started….
Horses were a big part of my life growing up, my parents Dirk Dijkstra & Sicca van Schaardenburg ran a riding school & warmblood stud known as the AEA. I have ridden my entire life and have a passion for animals & outdoor life.
In 2016, I was given the opportunity to work and train with Anky van Grunsven in her dressage stables in Holland. Anky has won 3 individual Olympic gold medals and numerous European and World Equestrian titles.
Whilst working at Anky’s stables I became very familiar with the ANKY ® products and found they were extremely practical to use as part of the horses’ daily routine. I was very impressed with the quality, functionality and fashionable designs of the clothing and accessories. I loved the products immediately and saw great potential for such products in Australia.
I was approached by ANKY ® Technical Casuals to start distribution in Australia. Although I did not have a retail background, I decided to take on the challenge, not only to start my own business, but to help people enjoy their sport and recreational activities in the best possible way.
The ATC ® products are designed around quality and comfort, using these products helps you to enjoy your sport more intensely. As a professional rider I know how important it is to use good quality products that you can rely on.
14 years later I am still loving every minute I spend working with the ANKY ® products and running our wholesale and retail distribution.
I am now a mother of two, wife to Dave, who runs his own building company and live on a farm in South West Victoria, with horses and cattle.
